I wasn't well yesterday afternoon and so the day's welcome brisk weather and gray skies found me bundled up in a quilt on my favorite chair, editing photos and trying not move. I did as little as possible, which, as it turns out was very little indeed. I:
*listened to a few hours of the Patraeus reportage.
*felt civic.
*made blue jalapeƱo cornbread (for some reason, this seemed the thing to eat on a bad stomach).
*answered the door for the electrician:
Me: Hi.
Him: I wish I were.
Me: ?... Oh, quite.
*answered the phone (sometimes).
*took a shower.
*drank water.
*read Chaim Potok's Old Men At Midnight.
