we were here
I spent the larger part of the past week at a cabin on Portage Lake (in northern Michigan) with a few girlfriends, enjoying the reds, oranges, and yellows of autumn. The foliage was spectacular, as were the beach under a full moon and the sky heavy with stars.
Staying at Portage Lake meant we were close enough to Traverse City to make the drive to see Breathe Owl Breathe play with the Earthworks Collaborative at the Milliken Auditorium Friday night. The nu folk duo (trio when there's a drummer to be had) spun delight with their whimsical lyrics and sweet cello playing. And we finally learned the sabertooth tiger dance Michael has been so excited about.
