the wall oven

she says: He makes me breakfast every morning.
he says: And when she comes downstairs in the beautiful yellow robe—oh!—my heart just leaps.
she says (blushing): Hee.
he says: And then we go to the kissing place.
i interrupt (wanting to go to there): Where is the kissing place?
they say (simultaneously): By the wall oven!

Lisa, we have loved seeing this photo and your caption to go with it. Here's some messages from my relatives that we forwarded it to:

This is simply beautiful! It's poetry in picture and words, and makes me giggle and tear up, simultaneously. Thank you for sharing this. -Dee

Almost like a haiku in how briefly she captured so much. -Tim

That's beautiful! Thanks. -Kathy

It's a classic photo and I have seen that look (and the kissing spot) many times! -Nancy

The picture and words are so true to Mom and Dad. I will treasure this! Great, now I have to dry my eyes quickly before my next meeting. -Cal

Absolutely smashing! Tim's comment about Lisa's words being almost like a haiku really hit the nail on the head. A large part of the enduring charm of her post is that she so accurately captured that conversational exchange. Their spirits really come through.
Well done, Lisa, and doubly joyful to see, given all that Mom & Dad have been through these past weeks.
-D&J

Thanks Lisa for giving this message to our family!!

This is so beautiful and truly captures my parents in a few powerful sentences. I shared it on my facebook page, and then several cousins re-posted it. The comments range from 'Everyone, you have to read this' to 'stunning, beautiful, tender, a keepsake forever.' Thank you, Lisa.
