yes, my love?

Being at home in Colorado was good for the heart. Good to watch the stars from the back porch, good to eat peaches my parents grew in their little orchard, good to take long walks with mom, a motorcycle up Skyline Drive, and a raft down the river.

What might have been best for the aorta, though, was to see my parents so in it with each other. While digging through a bunch of old photos in anticipation of my sister's engagement party in Madison, Wisconsin next month, I came across the first photo, which reminded me of just how long they've been at it—since the 70s.

And this one of them from the 80s, which might get at the how.

I understand that marriage is big work. But it's some kind of gift to see it played out well over time from such proximity.

Such great pictures! Oh, my gosh...your mom looks about 13 in the first photo. How great, though...thanks for sharing, L. Christy
